Becca Fuhrman

Becca Fuhrman (b. 1988, Boise, ID) is an interdisciplinary artist who specializes in multimedia large-scale paintings. Trained in art and architecture, her interests lie in understanding and illustrating personal narratives between people and place. Fuhrman’s work centers around story-telling and folklore–exploring the boundaries between memory, myth and fiction. Fuhrman grew up in the dry foothills of Idaho where she gained an appreciation for desolate landscapes, dry roads, and vintage artifacts. Upcyled materials and found objects are often used as substrates, creating a springboard for inspiration, strengthening the connection to place, and reducing waste.

Furhman currently resides in Seattle, Washington where she works across many mediums including murals, printmaking, architecture, and textile design. Recurring themes within her work are feminism, memory, gender and sexuality, color and pattern play, and movement.
