Minako Iwamura

Minako Iwamura (b. Sydney, Australia) is a visual artist, raised and educated in Tokyo and New York. She received her BFA in painting from Rhode Island School of Design.

In Iwamura's work, duality and the precarious state of in-betweenness are an underlying subject, reflecting her bicultural background. Taking references from sources such as nature, flora and symbolism, she explores the interplay between geometry, patterns, and color, and its capacity to express psychological undertones.

Iwamura currently lives and works in New York. Her works have been exhibited at Artist Space, Tiger Strikes Asteroid, White Box, Lorimoto Gallery, Anderson Contemporary, and at numerous art fairs with Timothy Yarger Fine Art. Her most recent solo show was at Hawk+Hive in Andes, NY.
